  1. A leap year is a year which is divisible by 4 and NOT by 100, unless the year is divisible by 400.

The year 1892 is a leap year, but not 1893.

1796 is a leap year, but not 1800.

2000 is a leap year, but not 2100.

  2. lol their answer are too complicated. let me help.

    the year is 2008

    2008 divided by 4 = 502

it is a leap year, because it has no numbers after the comma.

    2007 divided by 4 = 501. 750

it is not a leap year, because there are numbers after the comma

  3. Divide the year number by 4, and also by 100. If it is divisible by 4, but not by 100, it is a leap year.

If it is divisible by 100, it is a leap year if it is also divisible by 400.

Examples: 1783 is not divisible by 4, so it is not a leap year.

1988 is divisible by 4 but not by 100, so it is a leap year.

1900 is divisible by 4 and by 100, but not by 400, so it is not a leap year.

2000 is divisible by 4, 100 and 400, so it is a leap year.

  4. Leap year is any year whose number is divisible by 4--unless the number of the year ends in 00 but is not divisible by 400.  So 2000 was a leap year, bu 1700, 1800, and 1900 were not.
