How to find nos. in portfolio on YTD and Total Cost per Holding?

  1. You can add any of like 100 fields to your portfolio.  

    Once you pull up your portfolio, go to EDIT your view or CREATE new view.  From there you can add a number of fields that you want.  Unfortunately, there's not a YTD variable.  

    However, here's a workaround.

    To create a YTD and total cost, go ahead and create a "YTD" portfolio and put in the closing price on 12/31/06 as your cost.  Enter your shares that you own then as well.  Now, when you look at your performance vs. cost, you'll have a YTD view.

    On the ttl cost/holding, you can take your total holdings (which is selectable) and just divide it by the # of holdings you have.  It's not a pretty as having it right on your portfolio, but Yahoo is free, so sometimes they don't put all the bells and whistles in that people might want.  Sorry couldn't find more direct answers, but it should at least get you what you're looking for.
