How to find out full account number?

I am waiting for my debit card in the post but using Nationwide online banking I can see that the account is opened but can only see the last 5 digits of the card therefore I can't use it for buying items online yet. Is there anyway to find out the full account number without actually having the card in your hands?

Call Nationwide and tell them your dilemma. They may have you answer a series of security questions set in place in order to give you your card number. They may make you wait. It depends on your branch. It usually does not take long to get your card in the mail.

Even if you had the number, you couldn't use it. When you get the card in the mail, you will have to call and 'activate' it before it can be used.

You have to wait until you receive the card and activate it.  You can't do anything with it until then.
