Back in May me and my hubby moved out of our apt that we rented from a family friend. We were always in contact&kept a close relationship. . Before moving in our landlord stated there would be no deposit at all . In the process of our stay ,when we were moving some things out we broke the bottom of the door (it was wooden). So decided since we hadnt paid a deposit that we would go ahead and place a new door.Since we were close i told the landlord if she could please hold our mail and would make a couple stops. Fastforward to this month. We were told that our check would arrive on the 13th. Luckily that saturday i saw her at the bank and she said to stop by and time after 10:30 to pick up my mail. I went 4x! and never got an answer! Then i found out she left out of state for a couple months. i got in contact w/her husband and all rude he said im not in town im working i will call later today..i never got a phone call

  1. go to irs.gov and report the check lost. you can check the day it was mailed and it gives you the exact date of if you haven't received your check by a certain date you can report it lost or stolen.

  2. You can contact the IRS 6 weeks after the scheduled mail date to determine if the check has been cashed or a replacement can be issued.

  3. you would probably have to file for fraud. i would try & contact whoever sends out the checks, if that is possible & see if it was cashed.
