For tap water sometimes you can get you local government or water company to come out and do a check on it. Or you can call a sales rep for some water filters and purification systems to come check it for you. They will often do this hoping it will lead to a sale so be prepared for a sales pitch. There may be some other health related groups in your area that may do this for free as well. Be creative in asking around cause you will never know who may come out to check it for you.
