How to find out whether the sun glass I am having are orignal or not?

One of my friends gave my Rayban RB 3311 sun glasses a year ago. He told me that these are orignal. I am wearing them since then. Recently, another friend of mine told me that my glasses are not orignal as they don't have to logo or sign "LB" or "SB" in the lense. He said that all the orignal Rayban glasses have this mark in the lense and it is visible only after directing the glasses towards a light. I did the same but there was no sign of any mark. In the light of what is mentioned, my questions are as follows:

My glasses are orignal or not?

Is there another way to find out?

If my glasses are not orignal, can they damage my eyes (I have been wearing them for over a year)

Thanx in advance

  1. As long as you don't look directly at the sun, the only damage those sunglasses could do to your eyes would be if you poked them into your eyes.

  2. I have 3 pairs of Ray Bans here, and they all have their logo...RB , etched into the lens.

Usually on the left lens at the outer edge , near the hinge.

It is on the front side of the lens, and quite visible.

Your glasses, even if not originals, most likely give excellent protection anyway.

  3. Some fake Ray Bans do not have UV protection in them. If they are fake and ifthey do not have any UV screen in them you could be getting UV dammage. The best way to find out is to just take them to someone that sells Ray ban and have them look. I can see a fake from several feet away just becuase I have sold them for so many years. They should have a lens "tatoo" on them but some fakes have it too....most people who know Ray Ban can tell though....
