Question:

How to find out who offer Motorcycle Demo Rides?

I am fully licensed and have full required gear, I was wanting to demo new bikes to see what I want to buy for next season, and don't want to buy something that I don't like to ride.

So how do I find out (besides having to go to each dealer to ask) who and when demo rides are offered?

I am in Fort Worth, TX if that matters.

  1. Daniel, you still may have a problem. Coulter stores (Ride Now) will not allow test rides period. It is a problem for sure. Some dealer will allow rides but not on a carte blanche basis. Remember its their bike and their liability, and they have no idea about your riding skills. Why should they risk it, esp on a crotch rocket? The bike will sell sooner or later any way. If you can cop a ride now and then you are ahead of market intentions. If a dealer thinks just a short little ride will have your signature on the paper you may get the ride. If that same dealer thinks your are driving all over town sampling each marque and he is providing for your free education, guess what, it ain't gonna happen.

My best suggestion, rely on word of mouth from other riders. Remember just because they did doesn't mean its guaranteed that you will get too.  Have fun, enjoy.

  2. besides calling dealers, goto the web page of the mfg. Like victory and yamaha both post where you can demo their bikes (Victory will even set it up at your dealer for you) and also will tell you where their big truck full of bikes is traveling, so you can go thier to demo, like sturgis ect.

  3. I noticed while looking online for dealerships last week that Honda and Kawasaki both when you type in your zip code in the dealer locator's, show an icon next to some dealerships.... and it says that those dealers offer test rides on select models if you schedule/call in advance.   Good Luck!

  4. Most Harley dealers have an open house type of party every couple of months, demo rides and free food.

Just call your local dealer and ask when the next one is.
