Hi Joe,

If you mean friends, then you found me right here, along with a few others from Monterrey.  Other forums such as www.mexconnect.com have people hosting Mexico info., Google Earth has several on line communities in the Monterrey area for different interests.  If you mean people from the US in Mty, then you can contact the American Society of Monterrey (www.expatsinmonterrey.com) or French, at http://www.alianzafrancesamty.com/public... and go from there.  If you are looking for romance and friendships, sign up for www.plentyoffish.com in the Monterrey local.

If you have someone specific in mind, here's what I can think of:

1.  Look them up in the Monterrey phone book.  There are two main land line companies: Telmex and Axtel.  Both have directory assistence for their customers.  Telmex publishes a white pages, but Axtel doesn't.

2. Look them up in the Property register.  If they own real estate, that is public information and there are computers if you go to the Property registry on Colon and Degollado Streets where they can do a name search.  You have to do that in person.  The charge is about $4.00 US.

3. If they were born or married in Monterrey (or most of Nuevo Leon state), you could go to the Civil registry on Dr.Coss and Washington Streets.  This alone won't be enough to have their address usually, but you might get a valid address of a family member if you request an investigation there,people can attend to it, but again you must walk up and fill out an application.  The charge is minimal or free.

There are no internet directories for Monterrey.  Also, voter registration info is confidential unless you are an authority requesting it (like cops or judges).

Finally, if it is someone in particular and you know where they work or have some clues, you could always call and ask around.
