How to find someone?

we found out after my dads death that his father was not who we believed it was. we found out that his dad was a dr. in pa in the early 1900. does anyone have anyway of knowing how to find out where med schools were in those days and licenses

  1. ****Your best bet would be to find out exactly what area he was in and then look for Universities in that area in that time frame.  Licenses are usually issued by the State, or Commonwealth as Pennsylvania is, and they would probably have records of such.

      

    Pennsylvania State Archives has an excellent site and has a list of the records you can research.  Be prepared to spend some time on this site seeing if they have what you are looking for.  They do NOT have the actual record online, but the site can tell you if the agency might have these records or not.  I have listed the URL for the site below.
