How to find temporary apartments in Hanoi & HCMC?

My husband and I are going to stay in Hanoi and HCMC between end/April and beg/July. How can we find nice apartments with reasonable prices?

the nice one will not be reasonable at all.  There are apartments in the 2-3000usd/month.

Hi !

If you are coming to Hanoi, you should go to West Lake ( or west lake district) most of foreigner's living there, they will help you find out the apartment with good advides.  .There is foreigner village there.

Try Kenny (real name Kiet) at www.century21vietnam. You can also try craigslist/vietnam, they have real estate listings.

Ask at www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree and get into the vietnam thread for a good answer to this as many of the contributors are ex pats living there.

In HCMC there are loads of hotels in  the Pham Ngu Lau area, same with Hanoi in the Old Quarter

Get dropped off there and the hotel touts will find you. Also the cyclo drivers are a good source of info
