How to find the amplifier in a cd player?

i have 2 small speakers connected to my ipod but theyre not very loud and i know they are plenty powerful. I have a boombox that has a cd cassette and radio that i took apart. how can i ind the amplifier in the boombox

  1. Ehh...the amplifier is a whole set of parts, including the power (AC/DC), the output (what feeds the built-in speakers or Ω), and a whole bunch of parts in-between. Trust me, you'd be better off to go out and buy a small portable amplifier than to try and work with that. Understand that you won't get much power with passive speakers unless they are amplified, and amplification requires POWER (more than an iPod can provide).


  2. The amplifier is usually built into all those electronic parts attached to a P.C. board.  They are not usually a separate unit that can be removed and used elsewhere.
