My dad put a password thing on the wireless internet and doesn't remember it, he has it typed in on his laptop though so he can connect, is there a way I can find out what it is?

  1. Log into the router from his laptop.

usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1  default password is often admin

Once logged into the router, you can go to the wireless security section and see the passphrase.

If he doesn't remember the password to log into the router you can hold the router's reset button in for 30 seconds, which will reset the router back to factory defaults, then log into the router and set up the wireless security again from scratch.

  2. When the laptop is connected, go to the routers web interface using an address like http://192.168.0.1 and then you can see and change the password.
