  1. y=mx+b

    m=slope (from french word monter - to climb)

    b=y-intercept

    y=-5x+4

    slope = -5

    y-intercept = 4

  2. Formula: y = mx + b

    The slope is -5x.

    The y intercept is 4.

    Hope this helps. =)

  3. For y intercept, you make x=0, So y=4(:

  4. put it in standard form  y=mx+b....y= -5x + 4

    y is the y coordinate

    m is the slope

    x is the x coordinate

    b is the y intercept

    so the slope is -5 and the y intercept is 4

    good luck. Don't worry it only gets harder!

  5. When a linear equation is in the form

    y = mx + b

    then m is the slope and b is the intercept

    y = 4 - 5x = -5x + 4

    So the slope is -5 and the y-intercepet is 4
