  1. some online website provides free service to Convert Host Name to IP Address or Vice Versa.

    check this website!!!

    http://www.hcidata.info/host2ip.htm

  2. Enter the numeric IP address in your browser's address bar.  It will open the web site and you will see the name of the web site.

Actually when you enter a web address in your browser, a DNS (domain name server) converts the web address to the numeric IP address and the numeric IP address is what is used to connect to the site.

  3. Open a command prompt type Ping -a "ip address" where the IP address of the site is entered after Ping with no quotes. Example Ping -a 192.168.0.1

you will get a reply and it will resolve the name.

    Cheers

  4. This is a hostname lookup.

There are several sites where you can put an IP in and it will reverse the process to resolve to a hostname i.e web site name.

This site does it  (look for "hostname lookup" in Google"

  5. Check this site below and you will get all domain names that use same IP address:

    http://www.find-ip-address.org/reverse_l...

  6. Well you can find out the SERVER name, but that is not necessarily the website name. Several websites can be hosted on a single IP.. its called virtual hosting and cuts down on the IP's needed to host websites.

Go to http://www.iwebtool.com/reverse_ip  and enter the IP you will get the SERVER name that belongs to the IP, that may or may not be the website name!
