How to find volunteer work!!?

Question

I am looking to volunteer somewhere, I just dont know how to get started. I would like to do something with animals or just some type of community service. Does anyone know where or who to contact to start that type of thing. I live in kentucky if it makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

Look under the web site of goggle or yahoo and seek it out. If not than ask your church or a charity around your area. If not than maybe the white pages.Or ask any of your friends or schools might know. Also in the stores they have posted jobs or volunteer. Or if you like to work with the old people go to a nursing home or hospital. They are always looking for people to sit down to read or bring them to a activity. good luck

You can contact the local animal shelter, boys and girls club, big brother big sister, and any church that has a soup kitchen also needs volunteers.

Look in the phone book for your local animal shelter or kennel and call them up. They are always looking for people to help walk dogs, and feed the animals. Sometimes, they just want people to go spend time with the cats and dogs and keep them company. Some veterinary offices allow volunteers too.
