I have an ex-race horse that has a tattooed number on her lip but when I got her her previous owner has none or her papers. Are there any websites that I could use to find out about her?

That's the jockey club website.  You give them the tattoo number, her approximate age and her color and they'll look it up for you.  It costs either $35 or $50, but it's really cool once you find out.  My friend's favorite horse was an ex-racehorse, and we used the website to get her information.  We got her exact birthday, her name, her pedigree and her record with money earned (which happend to be none).

  2. you can get her information from the Jockey Club.  If you can make out her tattoo and know how old she is, you can have them look up the information.  But it costs $35.  If you can trace back her ownership far enough to someone who knows her racing name, you can look her pedigree up on www.pedigreequery.com and that will tell you how many times she has raced and how much she won.
