I have a Sony Digital Still Camera model No. DSC-S70:

It was going good; until i couldn't take pictures or even view it. Whenever I turn it on, it says PC MODE & my camera's not plugged into my PC. I turn the switches to Video mode or Picture mode, but it's stuck in PCMODE.

Anybody's help would work =]

  1. I'm not too sure about this answer, but I'll try. It could be mabey a virus that was put onto the camera when you had it hooked to your computer last, which means you will have to try to format it while it's on your computer, although you will loose anything on it then as well (If you don't know how to format, just plug it in and in My Computer, right click and hit format, then follow the directions). Hopefully formating it won't mess up the camera to a point where it won't work right since you deleted the software because some cameras do that, but not all. If your warranty is still good, I'd try to ask Sony if they know ow to fix it, or if the warranty isn't good still, try to see how much it would cost to have Sony fix it, or find an electronics store that might help. I think Staples will help even if they are around you because they helped me once with mine.

  2. go through the settings in your cammera;

    you might have accidently done something wrong...

  3. read up on how to do a factory reset / format to get it back to its orriginal state, might set it back to normal..

    otherwise if you have the warrenty take it back and shout at them till u get a new camera =p =]

  4. if u droped it that could be one thing but if u can't fix go 2 a place with pro's. if u go to best buy they can fix ur camera without a problem.

              if u try 2 much ur self u can end up jumbling the memory of ur camera

  5. Okay okay does your camera have a rest button? if not take the batteries out leave them out for like 2 hours  then put them back in (making sure they work) but don't turn your camera back on yet, then just plug your camera into the computer agian and after you unplugg it from your computer it should start back up agian. Sometimes they just freeze but most of the time they start to funtion naturally agian after you plug them up to your pc

    hope this helps!
