We have recently lost home phone service and now our internet because there is a short in the wire. When our house was renovated the guy didn't put a telephone wire in so we asked him to do it before we moved in. I think it made him mad so he screwed it up. How hard is it to rewire the house so we have phone service?

  1. yes...that could be..! but don't try to fix it yourselves....get a tech to do it....because you might make it worse!

  2. Hi aguthrie:Not really enough information but here goes.Do not know what type of wire was run.If in U.S.A., look at jk wiring.R/Gn or Blue/Bu-w pair should be Line 1.At the D-Mark,outside or inside, connect the R/Gn or Blue pair to the dialtone line. At jk,R to R,Gn to Gn or Blue to R, Bu-w to Gn.Otherwise, run a new CAT5 (4 pair cable,Blue pr1, Orange pr2, Green pr3,Brown pr4)lines1,2,3,4.Run from D-Mark to JK at Computer location.Use Blue-W pr.Connect at D-Mark & at JK.Good luck.
