How to fix a surfboard?

It has several holes in the bottom. They range from the size of a quarter coin to the size of a baseball. I plan to use foams from a discarded surf board to fill the holes. What should I mix it w/ and what r the procedures?

  1. well

    im not an expert

    but i suggest

if a part is broken off, you can  repair it with super blue

or you can get the plaster stuff they put on surf boards and mold it back on

    if you need it cleaned

then you can shave off the excess on top of the surfboard

    with a clean knife

or you can buy a flat knife that does that for you

  2. You don't say whats wrong, how can we advise you? give more details.

  3. are they holes or dents?  small repairs are pretty easy to make if you have a little bit of knowledge into the materials that you're working with but larger repairs, i.e. replacing foam might not be something you want to tackle on your own.  generally you cut out the bad section and secure a new piece of foam into the hole, shape the new piece to match the contour of the board and re-glass over the seams.  sometimes it's a little easier to think of it in terms of foam and fiberglass repair rather than surfboard repair....the board you're trying to fix might not even be worth repairing.  if there are several holes and they are on the bottom you could have water damage to the blank and you might have a delamination problem as well.  too hard to assess without an actual picture of the problem
