How to fix boat engine alarms?

have 6.2 mercuiser ;s alarms keep going off. all fluids are full, beeps every min. driving me nuts!! help!!

  1. one fluid thats often overlooked is the lower unit reservoir located on the engine block. That has a float switch inside it that indicates low level and if it goes bad will give that alarm. Overheat and low or lack of oil pressure gives a solid alarm.


  2. It could be one of your fluid level sensors or oil pressure sensor, etc.. Also could be a corroded connection or high resistance in a sensor wire. First do a thorough visual inspection, then get a digital multimeter and do some testing.

  3. Disconnect battery to clear trouble code. If it comes on again, then we will talk. Try putting a volt meter on battery's. It should read 14 volts with one or more engines running. I wouldn't think it would be reserve levels because that is a constant noise.............Just type in mercruiser trouble codes, and there will be step by step instructions with diagram for you to avoid going to the shop, its the first one to pop up.
