Question:

How to fix the Three Red Light problem!

I have had the Three Red Light problem on my Xbox 360 for a long long time, and I have been using the overheat-towel method, but now it doesn't work.

How do I send it off to Microsoft to get it fixed? And does it cost anything? And, I don't know if my warrenty has run out or if it has.

  1. Try Amsterdam. 3 red lights there is a bank holiday!

  2. here is a quote from the microsoft website (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/system...

"REDMOND, Wash. — July 5, 2007 —Microsoft Corp. today announced that it will expand its global Xbox 360™ warranty coverage. Any Xbox 360 customer who experiences a general hardware failure indicated by three flashing red lights will now be covered by a three year warranty from date of purchase.  All other existing Xbox 360 warranty policies remain in place."

just contact microsoft in your country and they will repair it if it is under three years old, I'm in the uk and have had 2 repairs, always get the same machine back.

  3. Try this website out it is great and will fix your xbox 360 good as new in less than an hour. Also they explain how to fix your xbox all in videos so it’s really easy. I did it by myself and used tools that I had in my house. Also DO NOT try the towel trick it only works for like a week and one of my friends said he left the towel on too long and it lit his xbox on fire! Yea so just give this site a try.

  4. Just call 1-800-4MyXbox

That will get you the Microsoft support line. Then you will have to give them info.

If your Xbox is still under warrenty then they will send you shipping labels and a box that fits your xbox (with fitting foam inserts and such) You send it back, but with nothing attatched, no harddrive, no cables.

Then you will wait...two - three weeks they will send you an email that a working xbox, not guarenteed it will be yours, but a refurbished one.

  5. call up their support line, and no, it doesn't cost you anything
