Question:

How to fix the "E18" error on a Canon SD30 Camera?

I took my camera to the beach, it was working perfectly (turning on and off) and then it all of a sudden showed the E18 error on the screen. I made sure to avoid sand and water getting into the camera, but after my sister used it, my camera went crazy. Does anyone know what I could possibly do?

All help is appreciated, thanks!

  1. There's Nothing You Can Do..

    THE DREAD ERROR 18 MESSAGE

It actually claimed the life of my last canon digital camera, there's nothing you can do about. It usually occurs when you still try to shoot when the batteries are low, and then the lens just stops, it's a really grotesque problem, which isn't uncommon in the least, and has been reported from almost any canon model, other than their digital SLRs of course.

The lens is stuck, there's nothing you can do to put it back into position, you'll just further damage the camera, and ruin it's components, you'll have to send it in for some servicing

    http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?...

that's canon's support page, follow that, and send your camera into warranty, if it wasn't your fault, you may have to pay it it was though

  2. take your camera to a best buy or a geek squad
