How to fix the tracking in a dresser?

The drawer does not fix properly in the dresser. How do you fix this problem?

The dresser drawer typically has a "C" channel shaped piece of metal on the bottom which engages a T shaped piece in the dresser. The "C" piece could be bent or distorted. Straighten it to improve fit. The "T" piece in the dresser could be loose or broken as well. Fix or replace this if needed.

There usually are glide strips on the corners of the drawer which ride on plastic buttons on the corners of the drawer slot in the dresser. If these are missing, you'll need to replace them to make the drawer fit well and slide easily.
