  1. Tighten the joints at every joint in the trap. If there is a metal p-trap, it could have rusted out from the inside. Drain cleaners will eat through metal traps.

    Depending on the type and age of the drain, you may need to replace the slip washers.

    If it is from above the disposal it should be tightened also.


  2. If you are talking about the drain pipes between the disposal and the P-Trap, first try tightening them up a bit - you don't want them too tight though, just beyond hand tight.  If that doesn't help, you can replace the rubber gaskets quite easily.  Disassemble the pipes and go to the hardware store getting new gaskets for the size drain pipe you have.  Reassemble with the new gaskets.
