it refers to folding and pinning. How do i do this? and what kind of pins do i need?

also, is there a alternative way of doing this without the folding and pinning?

I know your thinking, why would she want a bikini like that? Well, I'm small for my age and most of the cute bathing suits i find are not my size and the ones that are....I'm not so fond of

  1. you use da pins dat ppl use to take up clothes

  2. You realize that you can't wear this swimsuit in the water, right? It will soak up the water and sag like a diaper full of ca ca.

You fold to get rid of raw edges. You pin to hold it in place until you're ready to sew it. Take out the pin before it goes under the needle.

When you are sewing from a diagram  on a website, it helps to have a little experience. Make a couple of things from easy store-bought patterns first. Learn how to use a sewing machine. If you haven't seen a pin, I suspect you haven't threaded a machine either.

There are different pins for different fabrics but mostly they are a thin straight pin with some kind of head to keep it from pushing all the way through the material.

    .

  3. The pins look like standard sewing pins. As for alternatives...no, not really.

  4. You take the cut edges and fold it over and pin it like a cuff.

Then you sew it.  This makes it look neater and stops the edges from fraying.  This looks so cute.

Alternatives: you can fold it and iron the fold down before sewing instead of using pins.

There's no alternative to sewing that I know of that will prevent fraying.
