How to furnish a tiny room (9 x 10)?

It will be my 2nd time living in a dorm room.. and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on making a small room, more livable? Decorating tips? Your help is greatly appreciated! =]

Buy a Futon with a good mattress, you can use it as a couch as well as a bed. A stand up dresser takes up less space for items, place a lamp on top. A small refrigerator and micro wave, if allowed so you do not have to eat at the cafeteria all the time. A couple potted plants even article for a homey touch and a few personal items and you should be set for the semester. Just remember in a small space everything has a place.

first, paint it a nice color like olive green or lavender purple. then add some thing light like white or cream. buy a photon instead of a bed. then buy some nice paintings. well that's just about it.
