How to gain muscle on a really skinny girl?

i can eat WHATEVER i want and wont gain weight. im sick of being so skinny (many people will say im crazy). i want to gain shape and muscle. im starting running for 30 mins 3-5 times a week and doing weight lifting afterwards alternating upper and lower body each time.

The problem is nothing really seems to be happening ive been doing it for almost three weeks now.

so the real question is WHAT SHOULD I BE EATING? i want to be making most of my excercise so what should my diet consist of.

also as a side note, food goes right through me. (i have to eat around every two hours otherwise ill start feeling dizzy and faint) so even after i have a meal and go running i easily lose energy and feel faint. i dont have syliac disease or anything of that sort, its just how my digestive system works. so is there anything i can drink or eat before so i dont start feeling faint halfway through my workout?

thankyou!

  1. There's nothing wrong with being skinny. Some guys might prefer that body type by the way. Some people are naturally skinny no matter how hard they try to gain weight. If you pig out on all the wrong stuff to gain weight it might catch up with you when you're older and you might end up really heavy. You probably know all that stuff about eating right and exercising. If you're that skinny body type why not accept it and learn to accentuate your best features and not worry about the weight aspect? Many women would love to be able to eat and not gain weight.

  2. In order to gain weight, you need to eat more calories. It's that simple! Use this calculator to see an estimate of what your body burns and eat probably 1000 more calories than it says. http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/b... .  Also, since you are trying to put on weight, you need to realize that running as much as you do is burning a lot of calories by itself. I would cut back on running and increase your calorie intake for the time being (you don't need to stop completely just cut back some). You should also be eating Chicken, Salmon, nuts, peanut butter, etc. for protein.

  3. uh idk?

eat a bunch of food and excersize?

    im the same way too

im 5'6 and weigh less than 100 pounds

    but i eat sooooo much!

you may not be able to change your body

its just how you are born

  4. im trying to gain muscle too and my doc told me to eat LOTS of lean protein, and include some in all my meals and snacks.

    eat:

    lean meat:turkey,chicken,etc.

    nuts (granola bars w/ almonds)

cheese (string cheese w/ whole grain crackers)

    yogurt

    low-fat milk

u could also try carnation instant breakfast or ensure plus

  5. To get bigger muscles, lift heavy weights. if you want firm, toned muscles (you won't really gain that much muscle), lift medium weights more times. As for food, if you want to get big, eat big, sleep big...BREATHE big! Eating every two hours during workout is a good eating schedule. Keep it up! Oh, and one more thing. The recommended protein intake is one gram per pound of body weight. So I weigh 148, so I have to eat 148 grams of protein each day.

    I recommend Shapefit.com... it's where I learned a lot of this stuff.

I don't know about you, but I also have to eat over 4000 calories per day.
