So I was wondering what RPM should I be gearing up at for maximum speed, ie should I be red lining it in first before gearing up.

Also best gearing just for normal usage, ie being nice to the engine.

  1. Have you actually ridden the bike ?

I would have thought that the powerbands would have become obvious if you had.

OK if you rev it a bit more you will find another band too.

but you can change gear like a car too around 3000 rpm no problem.

but you should really ask this question in the Cars & Transportation > Motorcycles section. you will get a more detailed answer from the people there. this is more Racing (Motorcycle Racing)

I apologise for thinking you an idiot

  2. If you are RACING your bike, you will rarely hit top speed anyway, so dont worry about it.

Sorry, but you must have clicked the wrong section, as this is the motorcycle RACING questions.

The best advice I can give you is you to post this question again.

You would get a better response in....

    "Cars & Transportation"> "Motorcycles"

  3. I dont know....my brain hurts thinking about it....

  4. Many thanks to Wiggysan for keeping on the mission to rid this section of non motorcycle RACING questions!  Especially that question about BMX bicycles!  I was starting to avoid this section because I was tires of sifting through all the dirt bike, riding gear, "what bike should i get" questions.  Lets just rename this the MotoGP section!
