I live in a cool winter warm summer area and I want to start some melon seeds a bit early before the frost free date (4 weeks away). How can I make the seeds warm enough to germinate without a greenhouse or thermostat germinator?

  1. Start them in your house at a bright window if you have the room.  Outside make a cold frame- It's a box with a window on top that is also the lid.

  2. heat matts
