  1. wow you need to get a electrician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... if you think that you get  220 out of 2  -110v out lets

  2. The 4th wire is the ground, all new systems need that.

But technically 3 wires are enough to get it working.(red hot black hot, white neutral).

the hot wires have different phases, of course, when one is at 110V, the other one is at -110V)

  3. Seriously, get an electrician.  This can be very dangerous.  Improper work can kill you, or cause a fire.  These are both very bad things.  Plus, you may invalidate your home owner's insurance.

  4. Go to your library and find a book on it. I have some time life books on home improvement that clearly shows you how to run a new line for 220. I've done it and it's not that hard. Make sure you have the power cut off first!!! Either by the city, or by removing your metier from the base. There's going to be a locking ring around it, with a small wire tie. you must remove it first to pull the metier. I don't know about where you live, but you might need to call the city or electrical company first

  5. You cannot get 230 volts out of a 110 volt outlet.

You have to run a new wire from your electrical panel to where you need the power for your AC.

This is NOT a do-it-your-self task, unless you wish to be lit up like a bulb and maybe start a fire.

Hire a qualified electrician to do the installation for you. It will probably save you money in the long run.

  6. it doesnt work that way. when running 220-240 off of a residential panel you have two hots, one neutral and one ground. for a total of four wires. if you tried to combine two

regular outlets in the way you are describing you might not get a hot from both phases. ( extremely necessary)

also depending on the amperage of the air conditioner the existing wire might not be properly sized for the job.

i don't think you should try to do this yourself. chances are you are going to hurt yourself or cause property damage.

  7. You can not/should not even attempt to do that.  You should run a new line from the panel.  If your A/C has a 3 prong plug then you can run a 3 wire  line (Black, White, Ground) and use the white as a hot.(You must color the white wire black per code)  If you have a 4 prong plug then you run a 4 wire line.(Black Red White Ground)  You don't need to pull your meter,  if you are uncomfortable with it you should turn off your main breaker before you do this.
