How to get 2nd year working holiday Visa without doing fruitpicking?

I am on a working holiday visa and know you have to do 3 months harvest work in order to get a 2nd year visa. Does anyone know any other types of work that can be done? iv heard childminding in rural Australia counts?? Can anyone verify this? Thanks a mill

  2. While I've never heard of child-minding being acceptable, the rules state "Seasonal work is any type of work that is undertaken as the employee of a primary producer". That indicates that full time governessing would be acceptable if the employer is a primary producer (rather than a family in a town). Simple child-minding is very unlikely to fall into that definition as the rules also state that "The work should be the equivalent of full time work for that employer, that region and that industry.

    Applicants who work part time or on a casual basis can only count the full days actually worked. The shortest period that can be counted is one day of full time work (for that industry)."
