I know this has got to be so simple to do. I just don't want to spend money on stuff I don't need...Anyway,

I have Dish Network 500. My girls bedrooms are right next door to each other. The oldest has the reciever in her room and the youngest just has a TV with no satellite. How can we get satellite signal into her bedroom?

It doesn't matter if they will be watching the same program.

Thanks.

  1. Hey this question I can answer!  We have two rooms at my home that are on the same receiver.  Here is what we done:

    1. Buy a three way spliter (Walmart has them)

    2.  Buy an extra cable wire

    Part II

    1.  The room which does NOT have the receiver, you will need to run a cable wire hooked into her tv to the other bedroom with the receiver

    2.  Using the three way spliter hook the cable line from the youngest childs room into one of the connectors (the side that contains two) on the three way spliter.

    3.  Run another cable wire from the sattlelite box (should say Satelite in) to the connector on the three way spliter (this will connect into the side that has only one connector on the three way spliter.

    4. Run another cable wire from your t.v. in your oldest childs room into the satelite box that says I believe To TV)

If you are unable to have a cable connection in your youngest childs room try switching the cable wires around on the 3 way splitter.

You should have no problems.  I was in the same situation didn't want to buy an extra satelite box so I have mine hooked up where we are on the same box.  The only problem though is the picture quality in your youngest childs room will not be as clear or bright as the one in oldest childs room.  But, if your children are young, they probably will not even notice it.

One thing I would suggest when you go to buy the extra wire and 3 way connector make sure you buy the more expense product and not the cheapest.  This will help with improving the picture quality.

Another problem is that whatever channel your oldest daughter is watching then your youngest daughter will have to watch the same channel.

With my house we ran the cable wire from one room to the other room through the attic.  This prevents a wire from running through the floor to the other room.

Good Luck!  Follow my directions and you should have no problems.

  2. You can't split dish signal. You need another switch. I'll recommend you to get DPP switch with four ports. Good luck. May god bless you.

  3. You'll Need Another Receiver then Use a Splitter (The One that is used for Satellite Dishes) so You'll Only Need One Sat Dish with 2 Receivers
