  1. If you live in close enough proximity to the TV station to receive over the air broadcasts, you need to hook up a digital antenna - or you can get HD service from your local cable company (they will hook up an HD box) or you can get satellite HD TV service (which also requires a set top box with the satellite antenna).

  2. I made that mistake, too.  Unfortunately, you don't get HD TV by just buying the new television, you also need a good outdoor antenna [unless you live in an area where the TV stations are actually located].  I live in the boon docks, and I had an estimate of approximately $800.00 for purchase and installation of an outdoor TV antenna.

  3. Buy a sky HD BOX

  4. Firstly you need a HD source, PS3, XBOX 360, Bluray Player or a set-top box with a HD subscription.

Then you need a HDMI cable to connect the source to the TV, the HDMI port is normally blue. Don't spend loads on a HDMI as it has been shown that a £20 cable is no better than a £120 cable (source: gadget show, channel five)

That should be it but check the resolution the sources are outputting at to ensure you get the best picture for your TV whether that be (from worst to best) : 720p, 1080i, 1080p

    Hope this helps,

    Alex

  5. you need to pay a company like comcast or direct tv to upgrade to HDTV. then you have to buy wires that are expesive. HDMI wire. this should give you the best picture

  6. You need an HD cable or sat box. You can get one from your cable provider (if you have cable). You will need to hook it up with either the component (red, green, and blue) or (preferably) hdmi connection if your tv has one.

If you get your TV signal through an antenna, then you'd need to buy a converter box.
