Question:

How to get Internet Explorer options via code.

Currently I have a program I designed which has a bunch of different stuff in it that certain Internet Explorer options block. Does anyone know of a stand alone application that I can run that can either compare two instances of IE on two machines to make sure the options matched or if there's someway to create a program that you put on a machine and run to automatically set the options to what they need to be?

I'm talking about the option under the Security and Advanced tabs on the Tools -> Internet Options page.

Thanks SO MUCH!

  1. I think this may solve the problem you describe

In XP, Click on Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft Office Save My Settings Wizard

If you are running Vista, I imagine it can still be found in a similar place.

This creates a special OPS file which you can use to restore your Office settings.  It can be used directly from your own system, but if you also keep a copy on CD or a flash drive, you can use it as a back up or I suppose, even to transfer your settings to another computer, however, I've not tested this.
