I have a Sony HandyCam CCD TRV67 Hi 8 which is like 10 years old adleast and i cannot afford any new camera and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to connect it to a PC or get it onto a dvd so i can edit it on PC

I know it doesnt normally connect to PC but was wondering if there was a new device to do it that is much cheaper than them 500$+ cameras i saw the Dazzle DvD recorder and it said it connects to virtually anything but that definatly doesnt mean a 10 year old camera

Please help me :)

  1. You may try the fun and easy software Movavi VideoSuite which has powerful functions and can let you:

        * Rip or Convert DVD to Just About Any Other Video Format

        * Capture video from your digital and web cameras

        * Convert DVD and video to run on any mobile device (iPod, Zune, PSP, Cell Phone, Pocket PC and more!)

        * Split and merge video files

        * Add filters and special effects

        * Backup and copy DVDs

        * Burn data, audio, and video CDs and DVDs

        * Create classy video postcards

    There is the free download link:

    Also, you can google some other ones which I think will not better than the cool Movavi VideoSuite:

  2. The dazzle will work, and there are a few ways to go about it. It your camera has outputs for video and audio (usually looks like a headphone plug and the cable has a yellow and white/red RCA connections) you just hook them up to the Dazzle and import. If your camera does not have the outputs or you lost the cord you can try to get a regular size VCR tape that hold the Hi-8 and plays it like a normal VCR tape. Then you take that and connect it to the Dazzle. Note that the quality will not be the best, but it does work - I had to do it for a while too. Goodluck!

  3. If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder…

    You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera or VCR to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

    You would install the software and just connect your camera to the dazzle and the porgram would capture it.
