How to get a DVD out of a broken DVD player?

I have an LG DVD player and it has completely died on me, do you know how i can get a disc out that was left in there?

If its not usable any more i would just take it apart with a screwdriver, should only take 5 minutes.

When you take the cover off, you will probably find a computer drive inside, which is also sealed with a smaller cover. Remove the drive and you will find a manual release where you can use a paperclip or maybe and ink pen to release the front door.

This is true with most inexpensive DVD players. If you get the top cover off, and you can actually see the disk and the mechanism, you should be able to force the door open from the inside.

it's unfortunate that dvd players are so fragile, even still today, but if it's shot, which it most likely is, find a small electronics s***w driver and get busy.

if it is held together by screws...get the good ol' screwdriver out and take that beast apart!
