How to get a Samsung 52" LCD to show 1080p?

I've recently purchased a 52" FP LCD by Samsung. Problem I run into is that I can't get the TV to switch away from 480p to 1080p. I'm running the sound and video through an Onkyo head end and I have a PS3 hooked in for the Blu-Ray.

I have tried to switch away from the 480 to 1080, but the video from the PS3 keeps failing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Your Onkyo probably does not support 1080p.

    Try connecting your PS3 directly to your TV instead and see if it indeed displays 1080p.
