How to get a banner on a cell phone??

do you go to menu or setting or tools or is there a special button? I have an LG shine and i cant change the banner . can you help? please if you can help list simple easy instructions that i can follow thanks!

  2. just go to the menu, the settings, then display, then banner, then typr in what you want it to say
