Question:

How to get a bearded dragons scales to grow back

i USED to leave crickets in my bearded dragon cage overnight because i didnt know it was bad for him. of coarse i dont now but he has some scales missing on his back and arm. is there anyway i can get the scales to grow back faster or will i just have to wait for them to grow back on their own? will they even grow back on their own?

in case this has something to do with it, this happened just a few weeks ago, so the scales havent been gone long but nothing seems to be growing back.

AND another question: if i leave in mealworms overnight, will they do the same thing the crickets did?

  1. Hopefully as he sheds, he will eventually start to heal the injured skin and scales. Not completely sure how long this will take though.

The best thing to do, is remove the beardie into a seperate container just for feeding, then once he is done move him back to the enclosure.

This way you don't have to worry about this happening, and its alot more convenient in my opinion. You could also try feeding him with a pair of tweezers, so the insects can't escape and burrow anywhere.

    Hope this helps!
