  1. well, im an irish dancer and you have to turnout your feet for that too. whenever you can, turn out your feet. for ex: while youre walking around the house, turn your feet out. while youre eating dinner, turn your feet out. and practice dancing alot. that should help :] good luck!

  2. Practice holding the turnout. Ensure that you are turning out from the hips. Otherwise you will not strengthen the muscles needed to hold this turn out. Start of small, like holding turn out when doing a develope to second, and really concentrate on the muscles it uses.

I found that I noticed these muscles more when laying on my back, and attempt to do developes to second etc.

What sort of jumps are you talking about? Jete's or things like changements?

  3. do this stretch called frog position. its kind of hard to evplain but you lay on your stomach with your legs bent and turned out... try to touch your pelvis to the floor.

i always do this stretch when i want to work on my turnout.

  4. practice practice practice
