How to get a better sound?

I have a 1996 dodge ram, V6, but the sound of the engine sounds like a cat purring. Whats an easy way to make it sound bigger and for lack of a better term, "Manlier"

K&N air intake, then if you can afford it, a flowmaster exhaust.

2.5'' cat back exhaust with a set of headers of the same size. check with your local council though or government as to sound ristrictions. if there isnt any go with a straight pipe from the headers to a oval muffler (no cannons as they are for ricers) then if you want some intake noise get a Cold Air Intake. you can make them yourself easy enough and if you HAVE to a pod (which are also g*y)

Get Flowmaster mufflers.

change exhaust,muffler to a straight pipe or take the calyconverter out make so it sounds like a kitty lol check your muffler shop

drop a v8 in it and put straights on it mine sounds awesome and its a 96 with 360
