I own a new Four Stroke 49cc scooter I am happy with its speed of 37 to 40 mph but it's very poor in power when getting onto the road in town. I wanted to know if there is any adjustment I could do to the carb or any other part to get a bit more of a boost in acceleration?

  1. It's not a very powerful engine, you know, and if you do too good a job, you could violate the terms of your license or permit.

  2. If you want higher acceleration, you can change out the roller weights in the CVT.  New weights are pretty cheap, about $30 a set.  you will need to weigh the current weights to know how far to adjust, but about 2-3grams less or more is pretty common.  Theres a guide here:

Part 3 will demonstrate where the variator weights are located and how easy they are to change.

  3. turbo and nos is the best solution

  4. Run hi octane petrol, change the air filter element to a thinner type, stocking over lapped a few times is good for road but not enough for a dirt bike, pump the tyres up, but with out mechanical know how stay away from the carby.

  5. The best bet is to trade up to a 250 Ninja.
