  1. You should be able to contact your local Department of Child and Family Services for a licensing packet. This will tell you exactly what you need to do to be licensed. Hope this helps. :) Best wishes to you.

  2. First you need to find out what your states licensing requirements are. Here in California I would contact my local Community Care Licensing (CCL) agency (or go to their website) and get the regulations for my state.  If you don't know where to go to find your states regulations contact a licensed daycare facility and they should be more than happy to point you in the right direction.  If they don't help, however, you can try going to your local board of education or just try to Google what you need.  The regulations should tell you what standards your daycare must meet and any forms or training you'll need before you can start.  In my state I find the regulations pretty straightforward - everything is outlined for you.  Once you meet all the standards for your state you should be able to contact your licensing board and apply for your daycare license.  In my experience, the people at CCL are very helpful in answering any questions you might have regarding the process - I'm sure you'll find the same about the people where you live.  Hope I was able to help out a little and good luck with everything!
