My daughter emailed them when she had a problem at a Canadian location. She got take out and the order must have been someone else's. They compensated her for it.

They will offer to make you something else.  Starbucks will not give you cash back.  In an extreme situation they will offer a gift card, but it has to be a lot more than you just don't like the coffee you ordered.

I do not know thw reason for what you want to be refunded,

but myself if i do not like the coffee I ask them it is not want I want regarding the taste or the temperature (too col :)) and they prepare another for me,

or if i wait too long because I take hot coffee, and it seems iced coffee is faster to prepare they give me a card to have a free coffee next time and apologize.

If, you do not like Starbucks coffee just do not go back.  I do think if you want a refund just return the coffee and they should give you a credit or refund your money without any problems.  Try it...If you do not get satisfaction, go to the manager,or write to the company.  Also, you can go ONLINE.
