How to get a diagnosis for dyslexia (Singapore only)?

Hi, I am 15 this year and have shown some definate signs of dyslexia since I was little. I have to apply for mother tongue exemption but first need an official statement indicating that I do have dyslexia. Does anyone know how to get tested for dyslexia? Thanks:)

  1. Hi,

    Firstly, a referral letter from your school  is required stating why you need to go for an assessment. With that letter, you will have to have yourself tested by a psychologist. Once they have diagnosed you with dyslexia, they will give you the assessment letter which you will have to pass to the Ministry of Education (MOE) along with another letter stating why you need the exemption.

    1) Referral letter from school

    2) Psychologist assessment

    3) Psychologist's assessment letter + your letter to MOE + referral letter from school

  3. talk with someone from the spicial ed department from your school about geting tested. you might want to have one of your parents talk with soneone from your school. if you dont wnat to get tested in school there are places were they test people for learning disabilitys.
