Question:

How to get a dry felt tip pen to work?

I got a 12-pack of Sharpies yesterday and I've tried them out and the light-green one doesnt work!

Well, it only works very lightly... Basically the thing is dry.

Anyone know any tips on how to get it to work again? I really can't be bothered to take the things back to the store, after all, I didn't pay much for them. I was thinking I could leave it in a sme water for a while...

Anyway,

Thanks!

  1. my mum says that she always used to dip them in vinegar when she was little!

but i have no idea if that would work :S lol

  2. mist it with water

  3. I think I would just buy a new one.  Any remedy is very temporary a best.

  4. pull the tip out with plyers and spin it round...sorted

  5. when i was little i used to give them a l**k! :p

  6. try putting it in water or what the first guy said..

  7. I bought 5 for under £1 last week. If they are dry pull the end opposite the point off with a pair of pliers and tap the body on a hard surface. If the foam inner is dry you could try soaking it in water for a few seconds, meths works with some types..If the foam has dried out and it is the waterproof type you are unlucky. If the tip can be soaked you are back in business, good luck!
