  1. Yes, your arm is important. But you should work out your abs too. The stronger your "core" is the better. Because when you shoot, the proper way is to use your whole body not just your arm. Notice when you shoot in polo you almost do a stomach crunch. If you're not, then maybe you're just shooting with your arm. Try using your body! and practice makes perfect!

    Good Luck!

  2. Work on your abs.  Lemon squeezers and V-Ups work really well, along with general back and shoulder exercises.  Remember your legs too, because the higher you are out of the water, the more effective and effortless your shot will become, because its easier to shoot down rather than up.  Try wrist weights as well, I know it sounds stupid, but try it!

  3. Work your triceps and biceps, and make sure that when you throw you use not just your arm, but your whole body to really turn over and get all your weight behind it.

  4. I've played waterpolo for quite a while now. our coach makes us work our triceps more than our biceps using a pull down weight machine or rower. however a lot of ball speed is generated by flicking the wrist.
