How to get a job In the IT Industry?

ok hi guys, im 16, and i have a really great interest in computers. Im not the brightest kid around, but i really have a passion for my computers, like to play games, look around, toy around with parts, etc. I was just wondering are their anyways for me to get a good job in the industry, like career options and the like. i do IST at school and next year i will beg doing information processess tech for my yr 11-12 studies, if that helps, thanks, cheers.

I'm not in the IT industry or anything, but from what I've seen while looking at different higher education options myself, it seems like you have three choices:

1. University. You could do a Bachelor of Information Technology or some other more specific degree. You might have to do well at school to get in, though.

2. TAFE. It's generally easier to get into than uni, and cheaper. It may also be more hands on. You can also start there and then transfer to university, which would mean there wouldn't be as much pressure on you to get a high mark in year 12. A Diploma of Information Technology is the sort of thing you might do there.

3. Other higher education institutions. Places like Qantm College (see link under source) could be good if you're interested in gaming. I think they teach animation, games programming... that sort of thing. Looks a bit expensive, though. You'd have to check their web site for all the details.

Whatever higher education institution you might eventually study at is likely to have some kind of industry experience program to help you get your foot in the door, so just check out the info on their web sites.
