  1. LOL...good luck with this one.  Cats are NOTORIOUS for hating to be shut out or put somewhere where they're supposed to "stay" so to speak.

First of all, you need to figure out if you should crate your kitty.  I personally disagree with that because, unlike dogs, cats are pretty low maintenance and can be allowed to roam freely unless they haven't learned how to use a litter-box (which every cat I've ever had knew the litter-box was the toilet from day one).  If you're concerned about destructive behavior such as scratching or getting into things - then make sure you have a scratching post for kitty that is tall enough for him/her and make sure to have one or two toys that can keep kitty active while you are gone.

If you're going to be gone for a few hours I'll bet you dollars to donuts that within the first hour after you leave, kitty'll walk around, check out his surroundings, eat a little, maybe use the litter-box and then plop his furry butt down to nap till you get back.  That's the way cats usually work...LMAO.

    Good luck, honey!

P.S.  Man, the ones that get the good homes have such spoiled lives.  That's why I wanna come back as one of mine in my next life...LMAO

  2. i guess you could get a kennel. but, why would u get a kitten and expect it to stay in a cage?

  3. Okay a kitten isn't a puppy and doesn't get kennel trained and there is no way you can make it stay in there.  Why do you need it too?  Just put the food and water close by the litter box area they will always remember were the food is and find the litter, don't understand:)  Is this your first kitten?  Are you trying to hide it?

  4. Yeah I have to repeat: Why do you need him to go in there?

I have had LOTS of cats and have been around TONS more that weren't mine and I have NEVER met someone that did or had to personally put any of the cats/kittens in any sort of pen to contain them. Ours have always had free run of the house and in the instance that we brought a new one home and wanted to keep it up for a couple days to adjust we would put it in a room (ie. bathroom) with food, water, and a litterbox. That  is it.

  5. Usually since my yard is fenced, I let it outside or in the porch.

  6. You aren't supposed to try and keep them contained unless it's temporary - and then within a room - not in a cage or pen.  Especially since a kitten can seriously harm themselves if one of their claws (thin and not strongly developed yet) gets caught on the netting trying to climb out of a play-pen - if it tears into the  quick of their paw it's not only very painful for them it can bleed out rather quickly and even give them a nasty infection.  ...Just keep her in a room -not in a pen.

  7. get a regular pet cage....

  8. Why do you need him to stay in there?  What if he has to use the litterbox?  If you want to contain him, try putting him in a ROOM... not a box.

  9. ok here is what you do...

    1. take a peice of cloth (lighter than a blanket) and take yarn and sew it to the play pen... all the way around 3 sides... then use clips like clothes pins or binder clips and close the 4th side.

    2. take a folding table/ or a peice of plywood and place over the top.

But like the others said... WHY?

if you let it out then it will check things out and just nap after that.

    good luck >^..^<

  10. You can buy covers for the top of the playpen sometimes, depending on the style and the brand.  Look up the brand of playpen you have and see if they have a website, and then you should be able to find out if there is a cover available that you can buy.
