  1. Use masking tape to cover the join then paint right onto the masking tape. When you peel it off it will be a straight line. When you paint the ceiling do the same. But don't put tape on wet paint!

  2. blue painters tape

  3. Learn how to cut in and feather edges. Then you don't have to use tape at all (is much cheaper and much faster.) Use a special tapered (45degree angle) China Bristle brush made for this purpose.

I learned how to in about 5 minutes and 1/2 hour later was very good. I could cut in windows, ceilings, floors and walls.

    Good luck.

  4. The easiest and most precise way is to use a paint edger

Just make sure you don't get paint onto the little rollers .

It works best if you don't use the pole, just get on a ladder and run it along by hand, easy peasy.

  5. NEVER USE TAPE . It's difficult to get it right andwhen you take it off you can end up with a mess.

When you paint the ceiling overlap slightly on to the wall.

When the ceiling paint is dry start the walls at the top with a one inch brush cutting into the angle.

Do not overload the brush and do not make the first stroke in the angle but about an inch and a half away.

This gives you space to spread the paint into the angle and get a neat edge.

This way do the top two inches of the wall and then proceed as normal.

It takes patience and practice but it is the best way and the professional way.

  6. Skill and experience.

  7. 3M blue tape works real good.

  8. Hey. You should use the blue Painters Tape. It comes in different thicknesses so you choose whichever you want. I used it when I painted my room and everything came out nicely. And it comes of with a clean edge and doesn't rip or anything and it doesn't chip the paint off of the wall or ceiling or whatever you are going to paint. Hope I helped! also its pretty cheap too. You can go to a Home Depot or Lowes or any store like that. Even a paint store. Or a Walmart or Target might have it to. but your best bet is Home Depot or Lowes

  9. masking tape

    an edging brush

or use coving to hide the mistakes, like i do!

  10. Masking tape is great if you don't have popcorn textured ceilings.  I'm no professional painter, but I've found if you buy a good, tapered angled brush and use a steady hand, you can push the paint right up into the crease where the wall and the ceiling meet.  Don't over load the brush with too much paint and you should be fine.  Happy painting!

  11. i think you're supposed to use masking tape...when you paint over it it covers the ceiling so you don't get a mess.

    hope this helps!!

  12. Use an edging tool. You buy them at a hardware store or paint supply store.

  13. Use painters tape. It creates crisp lines and is easily removed.

  14. Use blue tape

  15. I use one of my artist paint brushes they're the perfect size because they're smaller and thinner than a decorating brush. Preferably use a square shaped one not a pointed tip one.

  16. I would suggest masking tape but becareful because some brands of tape are very difficult to remove to just check it first.

    Good Luck hope it helps

  17. mark out with pencil and ruler and the (DAMMIT can't think of the name) level thing (think it's called a level) and then above the pencil line put some masking tape (the beige/eggshell papery kind as that doesn't bring off plaster) lateral to the line and paint, then when the paint is dry take off the tape and voila! you have a nice, neat, straight line
